Students who may be struggling to balance school with work or family obligations or who have fallen behind on credits may benefit from this supportive\, innovative alternative to the traditional high school model. \nThere will be free food\, music\, games\, and giveaways at the Block Party. Guests can meet staff\, tour the academy\, and get a feel for what it’s like to be a student at this new high school. Anyone interested in learning more about the academy is welcome to attend\, including prospective students\, parents\, guardians\, and community members. \nConfirmed community participants include: \nBarber Quinton Thompson from Loud Styles will provide fresh cuts for block party guests\nThe Urban League will give out backpacks\nKona Ice will be available for guests from 1-3 p.m.\nAnd more!
