On air

Sundays 8P - 12AM

I can’t remember when I was bitten by the radio bug but it was a long time ago.

As I kid I remember slipping a small transistor radio under my pillow to scan the AM dial for faraway stations. Enamored with story tellers like Paul Harvey, talk radio icon Bruce Williams, and local legends Jim Scott and Gary Burbank. Like most of us who grew up in the 80s I was a latchkey kid. I woke up praying for school closings from the voice coming from my clock radio. Welcomed home from school by tv reruns and then would drift off to sleep at night with Marty and Joe.

I’m a Cincinnati kid, raised on Skyline, UDF and Reds baseball!  In 1998, I started as an intern right here at WAKW, what was then known as “New Life 93”. My entire radio career has been in my hometown. For 12 years you may have heard me elsewhere on the radio dial as the unofficial ‘traffic daddy of Cincinnati’.  I can’t remember who called me that… but I still snicker about it.

For 6 seasons I was blessed to fulfill another dream of mine as the public address announcer for the Florence Freedom.

My wife Lisa and I have two grown daughters, two dogs, and a cat. When I’m not working, I’m usually serving at church doing sound, binge watching TV, or you might find me DJing a wedding here and there.

More than 30 years ago God used a tragedy to bring me to Him. After three decades plus I’m still terrible at living my life like Jesus, but He loves me anyway no matter how unlovable I feel. He loves you too.

Praise God for that!
