Get To Know Hannah Kerr & The Story Behind Warrior

When was the last time you were totally dependent on God? Placed all of your hope in Him, trusting that He is strong and powerful enough for you? In this Behind the Mic, upcoming artist Hannah Kerr describes her heart behind her new song, Warrior. (listen to Warrior)

Story Behind “Warrior” from Hannah Kerr

The song Warrior is encouraging and empowering. I believe we all walk through times of hardship and darkness. We need to remember that our hope and strength is in Jesus Christ. Something that I love about this song is that it says “You’re not going to stop me, I’m a warrior.”.

Who Can Be A Warrior?

A student can be a warrior, a mom can be a warrior, a soldier fighting for their country can be a warrior, someone fighting an illness or a sickness can be a warrior, and you can be a warrior.

We keep hope alive when our hope is Jesus Christ. We don’t fight out of our strength nor from our own merit. What God has already done for us, makes us warriors. His strength is in our hearts. I hope you feel encouraged by my song Warrior.

    Hannah,
For my 10-year-old son Kevin: I have been trying to find a way to reach out to you regarding a special situation that I am dealing with. I adopted 2 boys a few years ago, age 6 & 8. The come from a VERY bad environment, severe abuse and neglect and suffer from a lot of trauma related to that life. My younger boy Kevin suffers from suicidal thoughts, he has attempted suicide and still deals with suicidal thoughts. It is very difficult to work with a child that wants to take his life, particularly at such a young age! The boys have been introduced to God and a Christian lifestyle since they have been living with me, which includes listening only to Christian radio. The reason I am reaching out to you is that Kevin heard your song “Warrior” and it moved him. He sings it all the time and he, for his own reason, has become empowered by that song! He has asked me if he could talk to you and ask you what your thoughts were when writing that song, he wants to know what being a “warrior” means to you! I told him that It was not likely that he would ever get a chance to talk to you however maybe he could write to you?? or ?? He does not have a computer or phone access as both boys suffer from PTSD and have very limited audiovisual stimulation. Is there some way that Kevin could reach out to you and ask his questions?? Your song may have truthfully saved his life!

Thank you for taking the time to read my message. God bless you and the ministry you share through your music.

I heard this song for the first time after visiting with my neice who is struggling with the decision to get out of a relationship that has become a situation of domestic violence. I immediately sent it to her as I knew Jehovah was speaking to me and I felt that she needed to hear the words in the song.
